Hi there, I’m Loulou Harrington–author of the Myrtle Grove Garden Club mystery series, a cozy series set a countryside rich in charm and history. In addition to writing, I also love to cook, garden, collect antiques and vintage china, and wander the hills, rivers and lakesides of the area I write about, as do the people who populate these books.

But with so many interests to share, it’s impossible to include everything with in the individual stories. So, the Myrtle Grove Mornings blog is the outlet for all those things only touched on in the series itself.

It’s about the recipes from the Gilded Lily Tea Room and Coffee House. It’s about the joy of a cup of tea in a rose garden on an afternoon in early spring. It’s about sharing confidences with a friend over a cup of coffee. It’s about the importance of community and people caring about other people. It’s about love and caring and sharing in all its many forms. It’s about the things in life that really count and are all too easy to forget along the way.

This blog is designed to celebrate all of this and maybe help to preserve some of the small, simple things we are losing–often without even noticing. Things like community and generosity–or preserving this earth so that there’s something left to pass on.

As the honey bees and monarchs go, so goes our world, and the world we leave for our children.

So come and share with the people of Myrtle Grove and the ladies of the garden club, with Jesse and Vivian and Sophia, and all the others. And happy reading, from me to you. Let me know what you think, and I promise to answer.
